Identify the data you wish to archive and wherever possible publish as open data. At a minimum, most funders and the University expect you to archive and publish data underpinning publications and other outputs.
Your funder may specify a repository or there maybe an established subject-specific repository that you can use. If not, then you can archive your data in Pure. See here for more on choosing a repository.
If you have archived your data in a funder- or subject-specific repository, you still need to add a record to Pure with a reference (e.g. a DOI) to the archived data and link this to the appropriate funded project/s in Pure. The University is required by funders, such as RCUK, to maintain a catalogue of archived research data.
See our guide Depositing datasets in Pure (pdf).
